This is probably the best Movie Theatre in the USA. - Alamo Drafthouse
There are very few things I actually like about living around Austin, TX. It's chock full of sissy boy liberals, and bearded, stinkly hippie chicks. But if I get the urge to watch a movie, drink some beer and eat something that actually tastes like food I do have a place to go.
Nell sent me a link to this article from of all places, CNN: Alamo Drafthouse: Them's the rules.
To be honest I never realized there were so many rules. I haven't been to Alamo in a year or so now but I totally FREAKING LOVE the place. I actually never put two and two together until she sent me that article. I think about a year ago I went with a friend to a regular theatre. She decided we'd see some Eddie Murphy movie. OMG... SO SUCKED. She actually fell asleep before it was over. I couldn't stop thinking, "When's it going to end, When's it going to end". And why can't I throw a chair at the idiot kids yapping their asses off in the rows up front, or why in the hell don't these little cretins have the decency just to shut their freaking phones off (which were ringing throughout the movie).
Now I truly understand one of the many reasons why I love The Alamo Drafthouse. You sit down, fill out your order and put it on the table top in front of you. Not long after they bring you a fresh, ice cold beer to replace the one you started drinking in the lobby. As the movie starts they bring you food. Yes! Real Food! Not popcorn priced at $20 a barrel made in China. Pizza, Philly Cheese Steak, Fish and Chips, wraps and even deserts. It's quite amazing. It's more like a restaurant where you site down the stuff your face in front of a good movie. it is truly a "Good Thing". If you're ever in Texas give it a try. Alamo Drafthouse
You know I should really be paid for this shit. Oh well, here are a couple bit you might enjoy.:
